Importance of Diethylene Triamine Penta (Methylene Phosphonic Acid) (DTPMPA)

DTPMP Chemical or diethylenetriamine penta(methylene phosphonic acid) is a phosphonic acid. It has chelating and anticorrosion properties.

Properties 

DTPMP is normally delivered as salts, because the acid form has very limited solubility in water and tends to crystallise in concentrated aqueous solutions. It is a nitrogenous organic polyphosphonic acid. It shows very good inhibition of the precipitation of barium sulfate (BaSO4). At high alkali and high temperature (above 210 °C) environments DTPMPA has better scale and corrosion inhibition effect than other phosphonates.

DTPMPA is innocuous and easy to be dissolved in an acid solution. DTPMPA has excellent scale and corrosion inhibition and good thermal tolerance ability. DTPMPA can inhibit the scale formation of carbonate, sulfate, and phosphate. In situations of an alkali environment and high temperature (above 210℃), DTPMPA has a better scale and corrosion inhibition effect than other organophosphines.

DTPMP Chemical can be used as a scale and corrosion inhibitor in circulating cool water systems and boiler water, especially in alkali-circulating cool water systems without additional pH regulation. It can also be used in oilfield refill, cooling, and boiler water with a high concentration of barium carbonate. Little scale sediment is found when used alone, even though none of the dispersants is used.

DTPMPA Chemical can also be used as a peroxide stabiliser, a chelating agent in the woven & dyeing industry, a pigment dispersant, a micro-element’s fertiliser-carrying agent, and a concrete modifier. In addition, DTPMPA is used in paper-making, electroplating, acid cleaning, and cosmetics.

Packing and Storage:

Normally in a 250kg net Plastic Drum, an IBC drum can also be used as required. Storage for ten months in a room shady and dry place.

Safety Protection:

Acidity. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Once contacted, flush with water.
